Oct 22, 2020 · The findings of the present study indicated that this Peruvian Amazon indigenous community is subjected to several acute health problems and uses mostly traditional medicine to treat them, relying on health professionals only as a last resort. The most common health problems identified in this study were gastrointestinal and respiratory infections. A community health improvement plan (CHIP) is a long-term, living document intended to be updated annually. It is a systematic effort to address public health problems in a community. The CHIP is based on the results of a community health assessment. It is one part of a four-part plan-do-study-act process designed to improve community health.
