Here's my anecdotal comparison: beating Dungeonmans in Roguelike mode for the first time and getting 100% achievements took me 43 hours, according to Steam metrics. Clearing ToME for the first time in Roguelike mode while also earning only about 20% achievements took me 300+ hours, and that was on Normal difficulty. ToME is a true classic from the dark past that has broken its way through to the modern times, without losing any part of its essence. It’s a traditional roguelike with turn-based combat, dungeon crawling and a lone hero, armed to the teeth with weapons and sorcery, facing a horde of blood-thirsty foes, on the road to glory. Per the devs, the game is balanced around Normal Roguelike. It really depends on class. If you are starting as magic-oriented class with Manathrust, you could go to the south of town. There is spawn some of relative high-level enemies, and you can win easily (if you are not sluggish as Ent) 1vs1 fight for really fast exp. 2. Roguelike is a game like Rogue.
